Andy, Carter, Mommy-mo and I, headed out to the Tulip Festival Sunday. It was gorgeous outside and a great day to get out and enjoy the sunshine. We hopped in the car and started our trek up to Mt. Vernon. Since it was sunny out, we hung a burp rag in the window for Carter so he could keep the "bright" out of his eyes. About half way on our journey, my husband, who considers himself an intelligent man (I sometimes beg to differ and this is one of those times), decides he's going to roll down the window because Carter wants his burp rag out of the window so he can see better. Apparently not understanding how most objects fly out of a car window, not in, when the car is in motion, Andy proceeded to roll down the window and allow Carter's rag to fly right out into uncoming traffic. You would think we would have been worried about the rag landing on someone's window shield while driving 70 mph hour, but nope, this mom was worried about the tramatic effect this moment had on my kid (after I lectured my husband and then laughed that five minutes later my kid still looked like the picture below). Lucky he believed me when I told him his rag flew home and we would get it when we returned.
Here he is on the way home, definitely happier than on the way up. Lucky for us, the rag was forgotten and I didn't have to make up a story why it never made it home.

Recent Happenings with Daddy!
I work...ALOT, Andy has a weird schedule...therefore, I miss these moments. Thank goodness we have daddy who has been smart enough not to delete these photos (New Zealand) to allow me the opportunity to enjoy the photos of them playing together.
I believe we have another Picaso in this world...Let's hope as mommy would love to be rich!

Welcome Aubrey Lena Frank
Baby Aubrey was born January 26th, 2011 at 6:22am. She was 7lbs 7oz and 20 inches long and more beautiful than any other baby girl I've ever met!
My sisters water broke at 6am the day before, leaving us with about 2 hours of sleep until the next evening. After the sleepless night and the long hours at the hospital, I still managed to miss the actual birth of Aubrey. Since Andy was gone on a trip, I had to get back to my house by 6:15am to be with Carter so Uncle Mikey could make it to work. Of course, baby Aubrey was stubborn and still barely peeking her head through when I had to leave and she entered this world while I was gone. If you saw how excited I was about her birth and the turmoil I put myself through to make sure I was there, this will be humorous to you. I'm still not laughing...it's the story of my life. To make the story even better, Uncle Mikey realized that he didn't need to be at work until 7:50am that morning AFTER I made it home...

Summer Summer Summertime...
Well, alot has happened since our last post. Carter's first birthday, Christmas, Easter, trips to Indiana, and just our normal daily routines. I'm going to try and make an effort to post more but we have also been very bad at taking pictures...I'll put that on my husband's list of chores. :)
Carter has started daycare and for the most part he loves going. He loves his teachers, the kids and all the daily activies. It's amazing to us how much he has learned since he started at the Goddard School.
Some of Carter's favorite things: Water, specifically playing in it
Thomas the Train
Wow Wow Wubbzy - it keeps him occupied when mommy needs to concentrate on work
The dogs
Playing outside
Carter has also started talking more, which is nice because we are starting to understand his needs a little more. Some of his favorite words: Banana, Dog, Kitty, Bubble, Cookie, Mommy, Daddy, Fish, More, Please, Yes, No, Oh-No, J.J., Auntie, Nonna, Hello, Bye-Bye, Nigh Nigh, Wow Wow Wuzz, Choo Choo Train, Tractor, Bath, Wa (Water), OK, Tucker, Dakota, Applesauce (hard to understand), Elmo, Bunny and others that I don't have on the top of my brain at the moment.
Below are some pictures of Carter enjoying the summer sun!
